Festival Iminente returns this year for a four-day extravaganza of music, art and a general celebration of creative expression. Running from the 19th to the 22nd of September, the festival will return to last year's exciting location - Lisbon's iconic Panorâmico de Monsanto.

It's not just music and art this time - there's dance, with an Iminente B-boy battle as well as creative talks, exploring ideas and potentially igniting a fire in the belly of future participants. In many ways, Iminente's evolution is becoming its own legacy, and the idea of legacy itself should never be too far away from the creative team's mind. Everything we do has a consequence and this carefully curated weekend manages to embrace this - being careful with the messages it sends, whilst allowing the participants to challenge preconceptions and worldviews.

In essence, the festival can be distilled down to creativity, but it has grown beyond that. Leaving an impact on Lisbon and Portuguese life, it's a focal point for many artists and festival goers. Yet, it's not tailored for either - it's up to each individual as to what they make of it. Back to that term - legacy. Each artist is working on their own individually, but under the umbrella of Iminente, it's a collective mindset that leads - with installations and pieces bearing in mind what others will do and the site-specific nature of the project's location.

Being powered by the name Vhils initially, as curator and participant, it has even come to, not outgrow the pioneering artist's reputation, but thrive entirely on its own - testament to his work, that of his team, but also everybody that attends - those who embrace the messages and allow for something like this to grow. The line-up is incredible, spanning over five stages, it's the most diverse yet.

Incredible artwork, challenging in itself, from Solid Dogma, ties together the whole idea, communicating something specific, yet indistinct. It's a feeling, yet one without a particular adjective. To understand, it's best to see for yourself.
